Make an easy lunch with Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs!
Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs are the PERFECT lunch for your kiddos or yourself, easy to make in just about 10 minutes or less.
The crescent rolls give it a wonderfully flaky crust, similar to a sausage roll, but without all the fuss of making them.
What type of crescent rolls should you use?
Over the years, I’ve found one thing to be very true, not all crescent rolls are the same. I ALWAYS use Pillsbury Crescent Rolls for these.
The off-brands tend to fall apart and are not as easy to work with. Pillsbury keeps their shape and is much easier to work with, so that’s what we go with!
Tips for Making Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs:
Use a cutting board or work surface that you can cut on, then unroll the full package of crescent rolls.
Use a pizza cutter to cut the perforated portions and then take a single crescent roll and cut it into strips.
Wrap those strips around the hot dog and continue on with the remaining crescent rolls.
The wonderful thing about this recipe is you will have 8 crescent rolls and 8 hot dogs, so you will have just enough to complete the full package of hot dogs.
When you are ready to cook them, there are a few options!
How do you cook Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs?
The first option is to simply coat your air fryer basket with grapeseed oil spray and place each wrapped hot dog in the basket.
Remember to keep the room around the sides so that air will circulate. These will cook at 360°F for 8-10 minutes. If you prefer, you can flip them halfway through the cooking time.
The only issue you may potentially run into with this option is that some of the dough from the crescent roll may get stuck in the holes of your air fryer basket. This is why it’s very important to spray the basket well.
The second option is to line your air fryer basket with foil or parchment paper before placing the hot dogs in.
Remember if you do this option, the food needs to be on the foil or parchment before you start the air fryer so that it does not blow around in the air fryer. It’s still best to coat the foil or parchment with grapeseed oil spray too.
If you use foil or parchment, you want to make sure there is still room along the sides of the air fryer to circulate the air.
Either option will work and both will cook at 360°F for 8-10 minutes. The times will vary depending on the amount of heat your machine puts off.
For instance, my oven air fryer function took longer than my Ninja Foodi Air Fryer. The first time you make them, watch them closely.
These may need to be done in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
The results will be worth it because these Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs are the perfect go-to for lunch or a poolside lunch this summer too!
Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs
Make these EASY Air Fryer Crescent Hot Dogs in less than 10 minutes!
- 8 Count Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
- 8 Hot Dogs
- Grapeseed Oil Cooking Spray
Unroll the crescent rolls and lay them on a cutting board.
Use a pizza cutter and cut the crescent rolls following the perforated marks.
Using 1 crescent roll cut it into strips and wrap them around the hot dog.
Continue this for all remaining hot dogs.
Coat the basket of the air fryer with grapeseed cooking spray and place them in the basket evenly, leaving room on each side. (See next step if you prefer an optional method.)
OPTIONAL – Place a sheet of foil on the bottom of the air fryer basket, this is to avoid the crescent rolls getting stuck in the holes of the air fryer. If you want to skip this step that is fine but be sure that your air fryer is well coated with grapeseed oil spray.
Cook in the air fryer at 360°F for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned. If you prefer you can flip them over about halfway through cooking time to be sure they are evenly cooked. We did not find this necessary.
Remove and serve.
These can be flipped halfway through cooking time to be sure to evenly cook; however, we found that ours cooked evenly without flipping them.
