We first had truffle fries at Raglan Road in Orlando, and I was anxious to try these at home! We later discovered they are even better made in the Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi too!

Can you make truffle fries in the Ninja Foodi or Ninja Speedi?

Air Fryer Truffle Fries can be made in the Ninja Foodi or Ninja Speedi. They can also be made in any machine that has an Air Fryer Function.

Do you need White Truffle Oil for Truffle Fries?

White Truffle Oil is necessary for Truffle Fries. This is what is going to really enhance the flavor and make these Truffle Fries.

Only a tablespoon will be used along with olive oil. This combination is perfect for these fries. Also, you can replace the Olive Oil with Grapeseed Oil too if you prefer a higher smoke point.

Tips for Making Air Fryer Truffle Fries:

Air Fryer Truffle Fries are made with Russet Potatoes, but the key is to leave the potatoes in cold water for about an hour after slicing and peeling them.

This will allow them to come out nice and crispy when air frying them.

Remember that this can be done in batches too if needed. We recently bought an oven with an air fryer function, which really is useful when making large batches like this.

If you are doing batches, you can leave the batches of fries that are finished cooking in a warm oven at 250*F placing them on the parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Once you are done with all the batches, these will be topped with freshly grated Parmigiano and parsley.

What is the difference between baking french fries and air fried french fries?

There is a big difference between baking these french fries and air frying. I recently had a comment noting that it was a waste to air fry them in batches versus just using the oven.

If you want the taste and texture of actual fried french fries, then the air fryer is the way to go. The texture and taste are different than baking them in the oven.

Think of it in terms of a baked potato versus a french fry. The taste and texture are completely different.

  • 1 Pound Russet Potatoes
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp White Truffle Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1/4 Cup Freshly Grated Parmigiano
  • 1 Tbsp Dry Parsley

  • Clean and scrub potatoes, pat dry with a paper towel.

  • Cut the potatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.

  • Place the potatoes in a large bowl and rinse them.

  • Once rinsed, leave them in the bowl and fill with cold water then cover.

  • Leave the potatoes in water for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour, this will help them come out crispy.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350*F or Ninja Speedi to 330*F for 5 minutes.

  • Take the potatoes out of the water and place them on a kitchen towel. Use a second towel to dry them as much as possible.

  • Place the dry french fries into a large bowl (reuse the same bowl).

  • Pour the olive oil and truffle oil in the bowl and mix the french fries well to coat.

  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  • Mix well so they are fully coated.

  • Place them in the basket, leave room in between, and make sure it’s an even layer. These may have to be cooked in multiple batches.

  • Air fry at 350*F or Ninja Speedi at 330*F for 10 minutes, then mix and turn and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until your desired crispness.

  • Once all fries are done, place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle cheese and parsley on top.

  • Serve!

If you do this in batches and want to keep your fries warm, you can heat the oven to 250*F and let them sit on a cookie sheet to stay warm.
Note the temperature changes between a Ninja Speedi and a traditional Air Fryer.
